Design by Sydney artist pitok. Each pin is based off an original painting, that has been transformed into a detailed illustration and made into a beautiful enamel pin. Each pin uses a copper / rose gold coloured metal, and has two pins on the back, to ensure it keeps it’s upright position when attached. A great accessory for your shirt, collar, scarf, bag, backpack or hat. Pitok draws inspiration from kitsch and botanic Australiana, as well as the bright pop aesthetic of commercial packaging.
‘Give That Plant A Drink’ is a design of a thirsty banksia, open mouthed ready to down a refreshing drink.
Pitok’s process begins with sketching ideas quickly in his art journal. Afterwards these concepts are transformed into gouache paintings on paper or wood canvas. Afterwards, these finished paintings serve as the next round of inspiration, as pitok takes to the computer and recreates objects and symbols from the paintings into digital illustrations. These are then used as prints, tshirt designs and enamel pins. Pitok works from a studio based in Marrickville, Sydney, Australia.
